Japanese WNT Post-Olympics Events: Parade

Japan's National Team, called Nadeshiko, who won Japan's first ever silver medal for football at the Olympic Games, arrived home to a fan parade of around 500,000 people in Ginza, Tokyo. The parade was in celebration of all of Japan's medallists and the Nadeshiko enjoyed the short ride taking photos from the top deck of the bus.

The Nadeshiko's recent results (silver medal at 2012 Olympics and gold at WWC 2011) were highlighted in a speech by the JFA President, Daini Kuniya, at a reception to celebrate his inauguration in September:

“Nadeshiko Japan won the silver at the Olympics in London and our Under-20 women’s side made great progress at the Under-20 World Cup,” he said. “These achievements owe much to your long support. I hope our team can do well in the upcoming Under-17 Women’s World Cup, too. But we shouldn’t view this as a passing accomplishment. We should use it to make further development in women’s football. It is important to make a plan to make sure we utilize the current boost for the future.”

What celebrations are the other medallists experiencing?
